This Sunday marks six years since E and I had our first date. I know that, over the years, dating milestones will likely give way to marriage ones. But we’ve always made special note of the day. We were wee college sophomores with no sense of the future but knew this friendship had some romantic legs to it. It’s a much longer and sweeter story for another post, I promise. But, more recently, I’ve settled into a fairly predictable weekend style. We’re finally getting some long-delayed cold fronts here and I’m finding new ways of layering staple pieces. The belted sweater look is a recurring favorite. It gives shape to the trend of oversized knits and adds a simple contrast. Accented with patterned pumps and a wintry clutch, I feel bundled but not suffocated by the style.
