This is one of my favorite creations to date. I think the diy winter floral centerpiece was living in my mind for a long time before I had a chance to arrange it. I love how an earthy centerpiece that’s a mixture of rugged and elegant creates the ideal holiday tablescape. I combined greenery from the supermarket with blooms from a florist and a few cuts coming from our own backyard. The result became this dripping focal piece of a holiday dessert table. So with Christmas right around the corner I’m scheming another bouquet that will create a similar, festive appeal.
Supplies
- block of oasis
- floral tape
- notched scissors or sharp knife
- deep vase
- large bouquet of winter flowers
Directions
one: cut block of oasis to fit vase
two: fill vase three quarters of the way with water
three: using floral tape, create a checked grid across the top of the vase
four: beginning with the greens, cut stems and place in the outer edges of the oasis
five: following with the largest stems, place them throughout the center of the oasis
six: finish the arrangement by placing the smallest flower stems throughout the entire vase (I picked evergreen and berries to add at the very end)
