So much of winter-weather dressing is making layers look good. My morning questions usually follow this logic: first, what’s the warmest? then, how can I make it presentable? And believe me, those aren’t the questions I like to ask when strumming through my closet. My recent discovery of AdoreMe, a New York City-based lingerie company, threw a gigantic bright spot into my winter woes. The website has a short and sweet style survey that designs your “online wardrobe” and makes suggestions based upon preferences. Having a head designer who spear-headed the Victoria’s Secret Angel campaign, you can rest assured their designs are all gorgeous.
After taking the quiz, I looked through my personalized choices and became starstruck by the lovely Effy set. In the season of layering and dressing for practicality, cute lingerie sets like Effy are the perfect upgrade to any outfit. The old adage holds true: the person makes the clothes and not the other way around. When I feel beautiful in what I’ve chosen, that radiates better than any accessory. Treat yourself to something beautiful even when no one else will see it. This way, I start the day with “what do I feel like wearing” and layer from there.
