frill maxi dress style

Growing up it was always the rule in my family that we dressed nicely for church. So jeans and t-shirts were out while dresses or skirts were the norm. And, trust me, I used to resent that. All my siblings and I wanted to do was roll out of bed, throw on comfy clothes, and head off to the worship service. As we got older that standard slowly faded so our personal dress codes got a bit more lax. But, in the last few years, I’ve found myself returning to that tradition. I love having a set apart style for Sunday mornings. So last week I pulled out this frill maxi dress for a playful look. Paired with a bold lip and simple slides, it felt like the perfect late summer ensemble. And I can’t say for sure how we’ll be with Colton when he gets to the stage of dressing himself for church; however, for now, it’s double the fun to choose his precious outfits, too!
