Last week was chock full of blasts from the past. It just so happened that a few friends of ours from totally different parts of life were back in town to visit. Years had passed since we’d seen them, so a lot of life updates went down. But I love the fact that regardless of how much has changed in our lives nothing felt different about the interactions. Sometimes the strangest part of all is learning to ‘adult’ together. These are the same people we pranked with in college or made 4am grocery store runs with in high school just because we had to have pancakes ASAP. Now we’re settling into careers, home life, family life, and spread out across the country (or globe). But the sweetness of those relationships hasn’t faded with time or distance. And I love winding down the summer with that little reminder.
Also, in light of a new season, I’ve been on the hunt for my one-and-only saddle bag. It’s been nagging at me as the new IT purse for fall but none struck me with that ‘gotta have it’ look. Well, until this Zara piece came across my way. Between the tassel fringe and punchy color, I was smitten. It’s so pretty I almost didn’t want to use it (counter-productive, I know). So I started small with just my cell phone and have been slowly adding things (you know, the non-essentials, like a wallet?!). It’s definitely teaching me to pack light and ditch the forty-two extra items I usually throw in a purse.
