This weekend I attended the funeral of a former marine. This tremendous gentleman, having lived a remarkable life, was honored with a twenty-one gun salute. Never in my life have I witnessed a more beautifully patriotic and inspiring act. Despite the surrounding grief, I cannot think of a more perfect way to begin this Independence Day week.
I’m not one for dressing in patriotic colors (it’s just never been my thing), but I love the idea of vibrant colors to celebrate the holiday. This emerald green dress paired with a cobalt blue necklace is the right amount of pop to make me feel festive. Letting those bright details stand alone, I stuck to gray or neutral accents to finish the look.
