light wash flares for fall

Jeanne Pierre sweater, Gap tee, Current/ElliottĀ jeans, Primark heels c/o

After our few days in NYC a couple of weeks ago, we jumped out to Long Island for the weekend with E’s parents. Let me tell you, it’s only an hour train ride but that place feels like a universe away from Manhattan. All the town names take quite a bit of practice (Ronkonkoma, Patchogue, really!?). But it was a perfectly lovely getaway to cap off our busy trip. And when I walked downstairs in these light wash flares, my mother-in-law commented on how I was bringing back her college days with seventies denim. They are truly some of the comfiest and easiest styles to wear whether I’m running errands or taking a day trip.

We drove around the island to findĀ the cutest little cupcake shop and funkiest graffiti, so it made a natural choice for snapping some photos. Don’t mind the creepy children on the carousel horse behind me in one of them…E thought that would be funny; my face shows my feelings about it.
