I have been really drawn to stripes this spring. I love that they are easily paired with other pieces and give off a fun vibe while still being classy. I bought this Lush skirt at a sample sale last year and it has been an outfit regular ever since. I coupled the red skirt with a chunky necklace while balancing those pops of color by wearing blues and blacks.

The trend of a high waist–whether pants or skirts–is strong for the upcoming season. It can be an intimidating cut since it sounds like it would draw unwanted attention to the midsection. In reality, the trend is meant to highlight curves and flatter a figure. As with any fashion trend that is new or seemingly scary, start with a basic, solid color and ease into louder patterns.
