If you’ve been around this blog (or me in real life) for basically any period of time, you’ll know I love ripped denim. There’s some meme floating around that says, “Wanna feel attacked? wear ripped jeans to a family event.” I completely relate. And, since there’s a whole meme devoted to it, I figured other people must really like the trend too. So I wanted to share a quick tutorial on how to diy raw hem jeans for that perfect, lived-in look.

step one:

measure and mark the length of jean to cut leaving the back hem 1/4-1/2 in. longer

step two:

cut along the marked lines, ensuring each pant leg is even

step three:

throw jeans in the dryer for ten minutes to enhance the frayed effect (if you want a more distressed look, use a seam ripper to pull at the threads)
