I can’t stay in the room if Hoarders comes on the television. Even their thirty second commercials make me queasy mixed with sad. The one time I sat through a whole episode (I’ll give most things their fair chance), I cried. And then I cleaned. So if ever I feel like my life state or our bedroom (read: closet) gets to the point of hoarder status, I take immediate action. This winter I’ve been practicing a more intentional approach–especially when it comes to clothing. Rather than hoarding my lot of unworn items and having to binge clean later, I’ve weeded out the oldies, hung on to the goodies, and only purchased things I’d been considering for a while. I drew my inspiration from fellow blogger, Anna Liesemeyer of In Honor of Design and am working toward my own version of a ‘Conscious Closet.’ Here’s to a clean and wonderful start of February.
