A couple of weeks ago I told you about a high-low dress sitting unworn in my closet (see original post here). Well look at this–the big debut! I’ve come around to this piece and begun to adore the Rorschach-type pattern. The funky hemline and dramatic colors are offset by a cinching green belt. With a dress this loud I like to balance the outfit with neutral accents. A small cross-body bag with gold detailing and nude sandals made the ideal combination. 

I’m not one to tell you to wear a style in which you don’t feel comfortable; I do, however, recommend giving a style time to grow on you. If something is out-of-the-ordinary, don’t completely rule it out. Taking a detour from the fashion norm can be energizing and liberating. With that said, I’m enjoying playing in this sideways-cut hemline (even if it took a while for me to wear it)!
