Let me just say, right off the bat: this is a swimsuit. I repeat, the white ‘top’ is in fact a swimsuit and it feels like some genius fashion hack. I might also add that this distressed overall shorts appearance comes on the heels of a seventeen year hiatus. Childhood style is back with a Fresh-Prince-of-Bel-Air vengeance. And I’m loving every second of it. E was a skeptic until he actually saw me try on a pair. They defied his country rustic fears and went more toward a playful summer vibe. So the swimsuit option came after my getting annoyed at shirttails popping out the sides. It offered an easy fix that’s on trend with ruffles and ideal for pool-hopping or beaching.
