I’m just going to lay it all out there and be honest with you: wearing silk trousers in thirty degree weather was rough. But I’m determined to bring about my spring wardrobe sooner than later. So over the weekend I pulled together this pastel pink look. A monochrome outfit can be tricky. It runs the risk of clashing hues or seeming dull. To avoid either ends of that spectrum, I chose pieces that complement my trouser’s floral pattern. The shoes, duster coat, and even lipstick are all shades found somewhere on the pants. In that way, when I plan out single-color ensembles, there’s usually one ‘guiding’ item forming the basis for everything else. And soon enough I’ll be able to swap out this sweater for a tank top (wishful thinking).
