First thing my parents, in-laws, or roughly anyone over the age of forty says when seeing jeans like these: did you buy them that way? Yes. And let me tell you, I’ve tried to achieve the busted knee look on my own to no avail. It never works out quite as well as the cutoff shorts version. So when I finally found a pair that’s perfectly jagged, I had to swoop them up. In keeping with the fair weather and laid-back vibes of our weekend, I paired the new denim with a ribbed side split tunic. This design is ideal for layering as it avoids bulkiness around the waist. Moreover, the additional split around the wrist offers a contemporary detail to a rather simple piece.
