Don’t get the wrong idea. This is not how we abide by every meal in our house. Actually, it’s usually the opposite: we get home from work (often at different times), sit at the kitchen counter, and munch on leftovers. It also feels a bit excessive for just two people. But when we have special occasions or larger dinner parties, I love to pull out these simple rules on how to set the table for every meal. Each step gets a little more involved but nothing over-the-top. Your breakfast, lunch, and dinner setups are below.
